Xian Lim reveals that not only he, but also his family is the target of hate messages

Last December 2023, countless people were surprised and saddened when Kim Chiu announced her breakup with Xian Lim. The two (2) celebrities were in a relationship for twelve years and the breakup was undeniably contrary to the hopes of the legions of KimXi fans.

Before becoming a couple, Xian and Kim were the first on-screen partners or love team. They are collectively called KimXi by their fans and supporters and they have worked on several hit projects together.

Kim and Xian starred in the television series My Binondo girl And The story of us. They also had film projects that gathered audiences in the cinemas. For twelve years, the then-celebrity couple’s relationship has provided countless individuals with constant romantic excitement.

Both Kim and Xian were mum about the reason behind their split. However, the actor-director undeniably received a lot of negative criticism. There was speculation that there was a third party on the actor’s side.

Film producer Iris Lee, now Xian’s girlfriend, was labeled as the third party in the two celebrities’ breakup. The actor denied the speculations and rumours. He also shut down rumors that he asked Kim to cook him steak before breaking up with him.

According to Xian, it was not he who initiated their breakup. The actor also denied calling his ex-girlfriend to tell him that he now has a new girlfriend.

Recently, Kim Chiu responded when Xian Lim spoke out about the issues surrounding their breakup. The actress expressed hope that he would stop talking about their breakup as it only leads to more conversations.

“The trip was beautiful, so… Ayoko nang maging masama ang loob ko,” the actress said in her message to her ex-boyfriend.

In an interview with GMA News, Xian Lim explained his side of why he is speaking out about the issues surrounding his breakup with Kim Chiu. According to the actor, after the breakup, not only he, but also his family have become the subject of hate messages and threats from other people.

He emphasized that he is not speaking out just to make noise for his film, as others may do, but because the issues have “gotten out of hand.” Based on the report, the actor further said that he doesn’t deserve what he gets.

“I don’t deserve the false accusations, the lies being spread… My family doesn’t deserve that,” he said.

Xian Lim said that he understands that fans were hurt by their divorce, but he and Kim Chiu were hurt first. According to the actor, his mother and grandmother also received hate messages.
