On October 12, 2010, Gerald Anderson suddenly bursts into tears during a press conference for his movie Till My Heartaches End with then love team partner and rumored girlfriend Kim Chiu after he was asked about the current status of their relationship.

This happened during the press conference for Kim and Gerald’s movie, Till My Heartaches End, at the Dolphy Theater in the ABS-CBN Compound, Quezon City.

Twenty-one years old noon si Gerald, at 20 years old si Kim.

Their love team, nicknamed “Kimerald” by fans, had been together for four years.

The “special relationship” between them has been going on for four years.

But even before the press conference, news spread that whatever was going on between Kim and Gerald was over.

Their breakup was attributed to Gerald being linked to various women, which naturally angered many Kimerald fans.

That was also the time when Gerald’s courtship with another Kapamilya actress, Bea Alonzo, was being reported.

TEARFUL, APOLOGETIC GERALD

Gerald was confirmed to be affected by the layered intrigue he was facing.

He couldn’t help but get emotional when asked by an entertainment columnist: Has Gerald ever asked Kim if she loves him?

Instead of answering the question, Gerald admitted his shortcomings to Kim.

“Over the four years, that we had a special relationship, we shared very happy moments together. We cared for each other.

“There are times when we hurt each other. More often than not, I hurt more. But, it hurts because…” Gerald started to cry while Kim was next to him.

“I gave Kim so many problems, heartaches,” Gerald admitted. “But she still accepted me.

“Because for me, I know that no matter what I do, I will never be able to match everything Kim has done for me. The acceptance of me.”
