Chloe San Jose is in the news again after she gave her reaction to the long-standing controversy between former international singer Charice Pempengco, now known as Jake Zyrus, and her mother Raquel Pempengco.

In a video that quickly went viral on social media, Chloe can be seen giving a bold opinion about the complicated relationship between a mother and her child. According to her, the hardships of a parent in raising a child should not be ignored, but in the same way, a child should not be forced to follow all the wishes of the parent especially if it goes against his or her character.

**”We don’t know the whole story, but one thing is for sure—they are both hurting,”** Chloe said in her emotional statement. **”It’s not easy for Jake to give up his or her old life, but it’s not easy for Raquel to see her child change like that either. But in the end, respect and love are still what’s needed.”**

Raquel Pempengco seeks Jake Zyrus’ help following death of mother, brother

The mother of Jake Zyrus, Raquel Pempengco, sought the help of her son following the death of her mom and her brother.

Jake’s uncle Robert Pineda Relucio died three days after grandmother Teopista “Tess” Pineda Relucio passed away. Jake’s grandmother died last Sunday, April 3, while his uncle died on Wednesday, April 6.

His mom Raquel told PEP.ph in an interview that his uncle died after figuring in a motorcycle accident which resulted in injuries.

Calling him by his old name Charice Pempengco, his mom revealed that Jake hasn’t reached out to her since the death of his grandmother.

“Wala pang paramdam si Charice hanggang ngayon,” Raquel said.

“Need ko talaga ngayon ang tulong. Namatay naman ang kapatid ko na nagbabantay sa nanay ko. Kaninang umaga lang siya namatay,” she added.

Raquel said she’s asking for Jake’s help because she is the only one her family members rely on.

“Tulungan niya sana ako at hindi ko kakayanin. Ako lang ang inaasahan ng pamilya ko,” she remarked.
