Kris Aquino’s Latest Updates on Her Illness From Her Sister
During a Zoom event held on August 20 by a non-government organization from New Zealand, Banyuhay Aotearoa, older sister Ballsy Aquino revealed the Queen of All Media’s current condition, more than two months after the last update was heard.

According to Ballsy, their youngest sister has been diagnosed with two new autoimmune conditions. Therefore, Kris is currently battling at least four autoimmune conditions.

“When she left, she had two autoimmune diseases. I think now there are four,” she explained.

“She’s not even 90 pounds now, she’s like 85 or 86. For the other treatments that they want to try, she has to put on more weight. She has to get a little bit stronger,” he added.

It is undeniable that the medical team is having a hard time with the treatment plan for Kris. This could be because she has many allergies to medications, which is why the treatments are not effective. Or she could be experiencing various side effects.

Updates on Kris Aquino’s Illness From Herself
In May, it will be recalled that the actress-host publicly revealed her various illnesses. In her Instagram caption, she mentioned the need to fly to America to receive proper treatment.

A few weeks ago (June 3) the Queen of All Media shared another update on her health. She did this by posting a video with an explanation from her attending physician, Dr. Niño Gavino on Kris Aquino’s illness.

“I met Ms. Aquino through my colleague and classmate from UP College of Medicine, Dr. Katrina Canlas-Estrella. Dr. Estrella reached out to me in March 2022 to assist in Ms. Aquino’s medical care.

“We reviewed all her medical history and records from the Philippines and Singapore and made a primary working diagnosis of Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA, formerly known as Churg-Strauss Syndrome), based on her adult-onset asthma, high count of eosinophils (more than 10%), paranasal sinusitis, transient pulmonary infiltrates.”

He said EGPA could also explain her weight loss, gastrointestinal intolerance, and fluctuating blood pressure. These were the main reasons for her travel delays.

“With no medical intervention overall, the life expectancy of those with EGPA is at about 25%. With the proper treatment 5-year survival rate is at 62%. Only 1 in every 1 million people get this form of vasculitis per year. That is how rare and hard to treat Ms. Aquino’s case is.”
