Months after Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera followed each other on Instagram, a recent interview from Heart has shed some more light on the reignited friendship between the two fashionistas. According to the style star, it was Marian who initiated the reconciliation, seemingly ending a rumored decade-long feud.

In an interview with 24 Oras on GMA News, Heart delved into the much-talked-about mended relationship between the actresses.

“Parang magpapasalamat ka na lang na things are done and things are removed for the better,” she said. “I think for me that’s all I need, and everything else like people I was friends with before, for example Marian, you realize that it was such a trivial matter for it to be anything.

“Mas may ibang mas nakakasakit sa’yo na kailangan tanggalin ni Lord, meron naman iba na deserving, so I’m very, very happy that Marian and I are okay.”

Heart also revealed that her fellow star was the one who extended the olive branch. 

“I really do give credit to Marian. She really spoke to a lot of our common friends that she’d like to see me, ganyan. Siya [ang nag-reach out], so I really appreciate that,” she said.

Prior to their reconciliation this year, the pair last shared a screen in the 2011 film Temptation Island, which they co-starred alongside Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff. Reports circulated over an alleged feud between the two, with the actresses having little to no public interactions over the past decade.

Telltale signs of their reignited friendship came about when the pair officially became Instagram mutuals later this year, even sharing sweet interactions on each other’s posts.

During a previous interview, Heart expressed that she and Marian have “always liked each other.” “And it’s a true testament that, you know, we should always be supporting each other. Because real queens support each other,” she said.
