WATCH: LOVELY ABELLA CREATES ILONGGO VERSION OF KIM CHIU’S ‘BAWAL LUMABAS’

After Kim Chiu surprised everyone with a full song based on her viral “classroom” gaffe titled “Bawal Lumabas,” fellow actress Lovely Abella couldn’t help but create a cover with the lyrics translated to Ilonggo.

On her Instagram post, “proud Ilongga” Lovely expressed her awe and support for Kim for having turned a negative experience into something fun and positive.

Nung naglabas ka na ng statement tsaka ko na naisip na ipost ko na to, di biro ang pinagdaanan mo at alam namin yun pero ngayon Ga [pangga] super trending ka at nakakaproud na nakakapag biro at nakakatawa ka na,” Lovely wrote.

(“I only thought of posting this after you released a statement. It’s no joke what you went through, we know that. But now, love, you are super trending and I feel proud that you can now make fun of and laugh about the experience now.”)

On the video she shared, she sang the chorus of “Bawal Lumabas” with the translated lyrics.

Super hilig ko before pa itranslate ang mga kanta sa dialect namin, PROUD ILONGGA talaga ako.. pero wala akong pinost ni isa paano di kagandahan ang boses ko pero hetong CLASSROOM ang pinush ko,” she added. “Pampagoodvibes lang sa gabi ninyo.”

(“Even before, it’s been my hobby to translate songs into my dialect. I really am a proud Ilongga. But I have never, at least once, posted a video because my voice is not that good. But with ‘Classroom,’ I really wanted to push through with it. […] Just a little something to bring good vibes to your evening.”)

Kim’s “Bawal Lumabas” was created with the help of DJ Squammy and songwriter Adrian Crisanto. In just one day, her lyric video and vlog received more than 10 million views collectively on Facebook and YouTube.
