The cameras captured his various emotions — surprise, bewilderment, and tears — upon seeing the co-host who had not been seen on their noontime program on the Kapamilya Channel for more than a year.

Vice gave Jhong a tight hug.

When he was shocked, Vice explained the reason for his behavior and lack of words.

“That’s why I’m silent, I’m really shocked. I’m really surprised. I’m so happy.

“I have long been waiting for this moment to happen. To have you my OG [original] Showtime family and my new Showtime family together,” said Vice.

He continued, “I have long been waiting for this because we have been trying so much. We have been working so hard every day to give what the madlang people need.

“Whatever the madlang people want, we are all here to help.

“I, personally, want to give them everything they want to watch, see.

“But no matter what I do, no matter what we do, they want us to be complete.

“And the pain in your heart is because for the longest time, I didn’t know when I would give it to them. When would I give them the complete Showtime family.

“I knew that no matter how good I was, I would be tumbling, I can never be enough because the best is when we are complete.

“We are the best when we are complete, when we are together all the time. That’s what they’ve been waiting for, for us to be together.

“That’s why I’ve been waiting for this for so long, praying, asking, asking God and management,” Vice said, holding back tears but his voice breaking as he spoke.

Vice recounted what he and management discussed about his request to have Jhong and Anne Curtis back as hosts of It’s Showtime.

“When we first talked, two days ago, I kept asking for it and what I always asked for was you. You and Anne really.

“My heart is so happy, I feel like an idiot right now that I can’t understand my feelings. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic.

“Sometimes I’m confused by my emotions but I’m so happy. I want to curse you…” Vice said in one of the most emotional scenes seen in the live broadcast of It’s Showtime.
