WATCH: Karylle speaks up on meeting Marian

MANILA – “It’s Showtime” mainstay Karylle considers her recent chance encounter with TV star Marian Rivera, the wife of her former boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, “a beautiful moment.”

Karylle was asked about the topic during a press conference Monday for her upcoming concert, “Date Night,” to be held at Manila House on Valentine’s Day.

The meeting between Karylle and Rivera was made public last week on “It’s Showtime,” when comedian Vice Ganda brought up a recent conversation he had with his co-host.

Referring to that televised moment, Karylle said, “Hindi ko talaga siya isi-share sa public, kaya lang… Mahal na mahal ko si Vice. Siguro natuwa lang siya for me, kaya na-share lang niya.”

Karylle added: “Dahil nanggaling sa kanya (Vice Ganda), feeling ko mas maganda. Kung manggaling pa sa akin, baka ma-misinterpret lang, so I’ll just leave it at that. It was a beautiful moment.”

Rivera sang a similar tune in a recent interview, saying, “Wala naman talagang problema sa akin since day one, e. Siguro ito ang tamang panahon na nagkita kaming dalawa… Mas maganda talaga pag pinaiiral mo ang love.”

Asked on Monday to react to Rivera’s words about their meeting, Karylle opted not to answer further. “Iwan ko na lang doon,” she said. “Anything else I add to it, baka magkamali pa ako ng sasabihin. Ang ganda na, e.”

She quipped, in jest, “Huwag mo sirain!”

Karylle and Dantes broke up in 2008. Six years later, the in-demand leading man tied the knot with Rivera in 2014. This was also the same year Karylle exchanged vows with her husband, rock star Yael Yuzon.
