MANILA — Vice Ganda on Wednesday made light of the supposed rift between the dance group GirlTrends and former member Dawn Chang, who returned to “It’s Showtime” this week as a guest judge.

A day prior, Chang’s remark about prioritizing technique over “aura” or mere projection came off, at least to Vice Ganda, as a jab at GirlTrends, whose performance with a noticeably botched choreography recently went viral.

After that playful exchange on “It’s Showtime,” GirlTrends members Chie Filomeno took to Instagram to share a video of her rehearsing in a dance studio, which some fans speculated was her response to the televised swipe at her group.

On Wednesday, Chang sat anew as a judge. Commenting on a SexBomb-inspired group composed of children, she said: “May nakikita akong medyo nahihiya pa sa inyo, parang ayaw pang i-give ‘yung all. ‘Pag nag-perform, all-out, walang hiya-hiya, kasi stage niyo ‘yan, moment niyo ‘yan, it’s your time to shine.”

Vice Ganda teased yet again that Chang’s comment had something to do with her GirlTrends, saying: “Tama kasi ‘yung sinabi ni Dawn Chang. Ibibigay niyo ang lahat. All-out, dance nang dance. Makinig kayo kay Dawn Chang.

“Ano kaya ang comment ng GirlTrends mamaya sa mga sinasabi? Abangan natin kung may sasagot sa Instagram!”

Chang no longer responded, only laughing at Vice Ganda’s quip.

In separate past interviews, Chang and Filomeno admitted having a tiff while they were still in the same group, but eventually decided to keep civil and professional for the sake of their performances.

Chang departed GirlTrends early this year, she belatedly confirmed in August — amid the circulation of the video which made them the subject of amusement on social media.
