MANILA — “Inaano ko ba kayo? Iiyak ako!”

Anne Curtis could only protest when she became the target of teasing of her “It’s Showtime” co-hosts, in a series of videos that’s gone viral with some four million views on YouTube alone.

The playful banter happened during a recent episode of the noontime program, where Curtis shared the stage with Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, and Jhong Hilario during the “Bidaman” segment.

Close friends in real life, the group has made it a habit to crack jokes at someone’s expense, sometimes with a particular target. This time, it was apparently Curtis’ turn.

In good humor, her co-hosts made fun of her outfit, her self-confessed “non-singer” voice, and blocked her contribution to the televised banter.

At one point, a speechless Curtis resorted to asking for help from Bobet Vidanes, the director of “It’s Showtime” who was also sitting as a “Bidaman” judge at the time.

The rapport among the mainstays of the Kapamilya show has often resulted in hilarious TV moments — and, for a time, a full-blown fight with tears and an exchange of harsh words, as they recalled in their 2018 anniversary special.

At the time, Vidanes had to mediate among them, just as a parent would with his children, Curtis and Vice Ganda recalled.

“Ang sarap din pagtawanan ngayon, kasi parang na-feel ko… ‘Di ba ‘pag magkakapatid, kailangan may ganun, e? Ganun ‘yung love, e,” Curtis said.

Best of friends.”
