Here’s a Sneak Peek of Marian Rivera New Movie ‘Balota’

MARIAN RIVERA – Actress Marian Rivera shared a sneak peek in the set of her new movie ‘Balota.’

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera will star in the upcoming Cinemalaya 2024 entry “Balota,” co-produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Entertainment Group, in cooperation with Cinemalaya.

Marian revealed in an earlier interview that she refused to use a stunt double for the film. She suffered several bruises as a result of that. The deglamorized Marian was also depicted in this film. She claimed that while filming, she didn’t use cosmetics.

Marian stated in a recent interview—which was based on the Inquirer article—that she experienced many firsts as an actress while working on this film. Compared to her other work, she had to deliver lines that were very different.

Director Kip Oebanda mentioned that they used an authentic ballot box from 2007 in their production. “It was made of steel and weighed six kilos with the ballots inside. We had a rubber version made, but she didn’t want to use that,” she explained.

The steel ballot box was fastened to Marian’s waist. During the running scenes, it kept hitting her, which resulted in the actress getting bruises.

Marian Rivera shared a video on Facebook showing some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the film, where she plays the role of Emmy, a teacher. The video also gives a glimpse of her deglamorized look.

“Pasilip muna sa set namin sa Balota,” she wrote in the post.
