Vice Ganda sparked conversation during the December 4 episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ with remarks seemingly alluding to the ongoing social media buzz involving showbiz personalities.
While not directly addressing the controversy between Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, Vice’s comments left viewers speculating.
Before starting the segment ‘And The Breadwinner Is…,’ Vice took a moment to address the audience, urging them to shift their focus from the online drama to the festive season.
“Madlang pipol! So ano na nga? Ano nang plano n’yo sa darating na Pasko? Magplano na kayo para sa Pasko. Hindi ‘yung basa kayo ng basa ng mga ganap sa Twitter! Oh my God!” Vice quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
He continued with his trademark humor, “Magplano kayo sa Pasko, hindi ‘yung hindi kayo tumatayo, laging abang na abang, mga puyat na puyat. Kilos-kilos tayo o.”
When co-host Kim Chiu asked what was happening on Twitter, Vice redirected the conversation to recent developments in South Korea, citing concerns for his co-host and close friend Ryan Bang amid the country’s political situation.
“Hindi siyempre inabangan natin yung mga nangyayari, dahil siyempre ang anak ko ay si Ryan Bang,” Vice said. “Mas aligaga ako sa kanya ha? […] We’re very happy that Ryan’s mom and dad are both safe,” he added.
While Vice never mentioned the controversy surrounding Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings—whose love team “SnoRene” has been under scrutiny following allegations of betrayal shared by Anthony’s ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva—many netizens saw his remarks as timely. The drama, which includes leaked screenshots and claims of infidelity, has dominated social media in recent days.
Vice is set to star in ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, an official entry in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival, premiering on December 25. The comedy film is expected to bring laughter and warmth to moviegoers during the holiday season.
