Vice Ganda mentioned AlDub in a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime’

Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda revealed something about the phenomenal loveteam AlDub of Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza.

The AlDub loveteam became popular from the Kalyeserye segment of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Alden and Maine’s popularity skyrocketed because of this unexpected pairing.

Their fandom became huge instantly and even though they have long been separated as loveteam partners, there are still avid fans of the AlDub tandem.

In a recent episode of It’s Showtime, based on the article in Pang-Masa, the rival show of Eat Bulaga, Vice Ganda shared that during the height of AlDub’s success, this was a memorable phase for them.

During the Kapamilya noontime show’s segment Expecially For You, Vice and his co-host Jhong Hilario sang the song God Gave Me You, which was AlDub’s theme song. Then the Kapamilya hosts imitated the famous “pabebe wave” of Alden and Maine.

“Ngayon, tatawa-tawa tayo. Dati iiyak-iyak tayo diyan sa AlDub. Dati, luha tayo diyan,” Vice said. Jhong added that their staff were sleepless during those times.

Then, the comedian-host shared that their team was creating the scripts at his house and they would not sleep because of this. They laughed at this recollection. “Lahat ng posisyon sa Showtime, napuntahan ko, eh,” Vice shared.

Jhong said that he is proud of their staff’s hard work because they did not have enough sleep for six months. Then, they greeted the former loveteam partners. “Hi Alden, hi Maine,” Vice Ganda said.

Meanwhile, during the height of AlDub’s popularity, Vice Ganda mentioned the Kapuso loveteam on It’s Showtime. After that, rumors surfaced that this did not sit well with ABS-CBN’s Chief Operating Officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes. Allegedly, a feud happened between Vice and Cory at that time.
