In the recent episode of It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda addresses the “utang” rumors.

 

Kapamilya superstar Vice Ganda has this to say about the rumored “utang” of ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime to the GMA network.

Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Karylle, Amy Perez, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Darren, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, MC, Lassy, and Cianne Dominguez are the current hosts of It’s Showtime.

The ABS-CBN noontime show has found a home in GMA’s main channel and at the end of this year, the contract also ends.

As the deal is soon to end, rumors have been circulating online, and one of them is Showtime’s “utang,” or debt to the Kapuso network. Is it true that they have “utang” to the media giant?

In a recent episode of Showtime, Vice addressed the issue with the conversation starting with how shiny the new platform for “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” was. The superstar comedian said, “Paano ba namang hindi kukutitap, ang kintab ng stage na to, parang natapunan ng syrup ng hotcake.”

Navarro quipped, “Budgeted na tayo dito, umaasenso na tayo.”

Vice agreed and encouraged others to claim this and added, “Let’s claim it na umaasenso tayo. At hindi totoong may utang ang It’s Showtime sa GMA.”

In a previous article, GMA senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes shared that there’s a big chance Showtime’s contract will be renewed with them. There’s a 95% chance and they are just waiting for some more data before making the final decision.

During the same interview, she also clarified that Showtime doesn’t owe them any amount. She expressed, “Wala, wala, wala! Wala silang utang, wala.”

As for the contract renewal of Showtime in their network, a final decision will be made either next week or that week after that.
