Here’s Why Vice Ganda’s Plan To Have A Child Taking So Long

VICE GANDA – It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda revealed the reason why his plan to have a child is taking so long.

Vice Ganda and Ion Perez were dating for a year before announcing their relationship to the public in 2019. They got engaged in 2020 and held their wedding commitment ceremony in February 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.

Just over two years ago, the Phenomenal star revealed that he chooses to be child-free because he doesn’t want his child to be exposed to the “cruelty” of the world.

Vice Ganda recently said that he is now *ready* to have a child with Ion Perez, thus it appears that he has changed his mind.

The comedian said that it was his relationship with Ion that made him realize he wanted to start a family of his own. He admits that before traveling to the US, he was on the verge of going through with the surrogacy procedure.

“I met Ion tapos na-build tong relationship namin, and I found it so beautiful. Naisip ko, kayang kaya namin magka-baby. Gusto ko na siya buuin talaga. Wala na akong pakialam kung anong sasabihin nila, ang mahalaga nalang ay i-b-build ko yung personality ng magiging anak ko, yung character niya,” he said.

Vice Ganda became more open about having a child on the Kapamilya program “Magandang Buhay” on Tuesday, along with his mother Rosario, sister Marivic and niece Camille. He said his plan to have a child of his own continues.

“Gusto ko na talaga, ‘yung panahon lang ang kalaban ko. Nahihirapan ako maghanap ng panahon. Mahabang proseso kasi siya. Kailangan ko talagang maglaan ng panahon.”

“Excited na hindi excited kasi ang tanda na niya eh. Matanda na ‘yung anak ko,” he admitted.

“Sinasabi niya palagi yon. Actually hindi lang siya. Marami akong kakilala, ‘ngayon pa ba ang tanda mo na?’ Actually kaya ako tumagal nang tumagal dahil sa ganyang komento,” Vice added.

“Kasi baka hindi ko na maalagaan, anak. Tulad ng mga apo ko na nung bumalik ako eh hindi ko na naranasan magpalit ng diaper, hindi ko naranasan na magpaligo, which I regret talaga. Pero I have to choose kung ano ang dapat kong unahin. Eh ngayon baka hindi ko na kaya mag-alaga,” said his mom Rosario.
