Vice Ganda shut down rumors that he and his partner Ion Perez have broken up, stating that they recently spent time apart only to keep the “balance” in their relationship.
The comedian admitted that he cried because he missed Perez who recently came back from a trip to Japan, as seen in an episode of the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” on its YouTube channel yesterday, Aug. 17.

“Since the pandemic, haven’t we been together at home, then we haven’t had time to be apart for a long time,” he said. “But my family was with me when he wasn’t [for] balance. He went to Japan with his family, I went to Bohol with my family — balance [to have] time with our family.”
(When the pandemic started, we decided to live together and since then, we have not had the time to be separated from each other for a long period of time. But I was with my family when he left [for Japan] so there could be balance. He went to Japan with his family while I went to Bohol with my family. [We did it] to have balance [in our relationship] and to allot time for our families.)
Vice Ganda and Perez were then cheered by their fans after the couple greeted them and addressed the breakup speculations hounding their relationship.
“We are happy. Don’t do anything, you chismosas. [They said] Ion and I are separated,” Vice Ganda stated while he and his fellow hosts laughed at the issue. (We are happy. Do not make up [stories], you gossipmongers. They are spreading rumors that Ion and I already broke up.)
While the comedian did not elaborate how the rumors came up, it can be noted that entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin earlier speculated that the couple’s relationship may be on the rocks lately. Fermin’s statement, which can be seen in her YouTube vlog last Aug. 12, came after Vice Ganda disclosed that the “past few months have not been easy” for him.
Vice Ganda and Perez confirmed their relationship in 2019, revealing that they had already been dating for a year at the time. The couple then got engaged in 2020, and had a wedding commitment ceremony in Las Vegas last February
