MANILA — Local superstar Anne Curtis was already five months into her pregnancy when she and her husband, restaurateur and vlogger Erwan Heussaff, announced last Sunday that they are expectant, first-time parents.

In the months leading up to the revelation, Curtis was seen daily on “It’s Showtime,” as she had been over the past decade since the noontime program’s debut.

Notably, as “It’s Showtime” celebrated its 10th anniversary in October — Curtis’ fourth month of pregnancy — she performed stunts which, while impressive, were relatively tame given her past streak of death-defying acts.

That she thanked Heussaff, on live television, for “allowing” her to push through with the performance — under the supervision of a trainer who knew of her pregnancy, she belatedly revealed — was taken as a hint by her long-time fans that she was indeed expecting.

But even prior to that, several moments on “It’s Showtime” triggered speculation among eagle-eyed followers, with many of them noting Curtis’ fashion choices which strategically hid her stomach, and her being prone to crying and feeling lethargic, among others.
