An episode of Expecially For You became controversial because of this

Expecially For You searcher Maria Christine had a conversation with It’s Showtime staff after Vice Ganda’s statement withdrawing his apology.

Christine and her ex-boyfriend Derick were featured in a recent episode of the dating search segment of the Kapamilya noontime show. One of the searches was Axel Cruz who received scolding from Vice after his alleged “nakaw na halik” to Christine.

In a statement, Axel explained that he was supposed to do the “BroCode” handshake with Christine but because of the camera angle, it was made to look like he kissed her without her permission.

Breaking her silence on the issue, Christine said that she did not take the gesture badly. After that, Vice shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter that he would apologize to Axel because he thought negatively of the incident.

However, in a statement that Vice had on the June 4 episode, he stressed that he would not apologize to Axel because they found out that after an investigation they did that Christine felt discomfort when the unchosen searchee did that to her.

“Nakausap po [naming] muli si Axel at si Christine, at dahil po don ay binabawi ko ‘yung ni-tweet ko na I will say an apology because I do not need to apologize for what I did,” Vice said, adding that they don’t see the need to apologize because what they did was right.

After that, Facebook user Jhelo Bernabe, the brother of Christine’s ex-boyfriend Derick, shared a video showing that the Expecially For You searcher was talking to people from It’s Showtime.

In the video, Christine was crying and trying to argue her side because she said she had been receiving bashing because the show painted her as a liar. Jhelo also shared a screenshot of his conversation with Derick in which the latter explained that the video was taken by Christine’s sibling.

It can be heard that someone from Showtime pointed out that Christine released three videos with different statements while the latter stressed that she just repeated what she said with reiteration.
