The story shared by ‘EXpecially For You’ searcher April this afternoon, July 19, touched the heart with the many trials she faces in life.

April is a working student who works part-time to support her sick mother, while her father has passed away.

The young woman also shared her health condition on It’s Showtime, where she was diagnosed with alopecia.

According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease, “alopecia areata is a disease that happens when the immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair loss. Hair follicles are the structures in skin that form hair.

“While hair can be lost from any part of the body, alopecia areata usually affects the head and face. Hair typically falls out in small, round patches about the size of a quarter, but in some cases, hair loss is more extensive.”

Even though there are many burdens and hardships, April told It’s Showtime, she is okay and can still do it.

“Just fight, just fight. Because if I give in, it’s like I’m just like my dad who just gave in. For my mother, I’m making myself stronger.”

April also got emotional when revealing the impact of alopecia on her self-confidence.

Her tearful story, “It has a big impact. Because sometimes I wear a cap and then I see people, they have hair. Especially my classmates, of course they fix their hair. But, why don’t I fix myself? The insecurity has a huge impact on my personality.”

The Unkabogable Star gave their searcher a big hug and she herself shared her own journey on how she dealt with hair loss.

“It’s hard, my hairline just grew back and my confidence [fell] really bad. The staff knew that when Showtime started when I was losing my hair due to stress. My insecurity was so bad…. It took me so long to accept that my hair was ugly. I’m so sick of it. You know, when you’re gay, you want your hair to be beautiful. Then you’re gay, your hairline is so high, shucks, how can I make a living. How am I on TV?”

Meanwhile, Vice advises April, “That’s really cool, but in the end it’s not about hair. It’s about the kind of love you can give to yourself and other people. And that love comes back. You have hair, you don’t, just try to love yourself and other people.”

Vice continues, “That love will come back when you feel more than the hair on your head can have. I hope you’re filled with love around you. I hope at home, at school. Wherever you go, I hope you’re filled with love. I hope [you] find someone with a very deep heart, full of love to share with you.”
