Vice Ganda talked about venturing into the drama genre

Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda admitted that he had “insecurity” doing drama for his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry And The Breadwinner Is.

Vice is one of the most successful comedians of his generation. His career path has been an inspiration for many younger generations of comedians. Over the course of his career, he also helped a lot of showbiz newbies.

Aside from his talent to make people laugh, Vice showed that he can also make people cry through his recent movie about breadwinners. He previously said that 2025 would be the start of a new era in his career.

In an interview with Mega Style, Vice Ganda shared that he was “insecure” doing the drama scenes. He shared that his co-star Eugene Domingo, who is also his friend, knew that he was insecure.

“I was so insecure because everyone knows that my castmates are all good in drama. All of them are award-winning actors,” Vice said.

For his part, this is his first time doing drama. Going to the movie set, Vice felt that “insecurity” but not in a negative way. That insecurity fueled him to make sure that he was really prepared for the scenes.

The comedian-host also shared that he underwent workshops to be at least on the same wavelength as his co-stars.

Vice also said that his castmates were very supportive of him. They were generous and really guided him. He shared that they would ask him after every scene if he was already satisfied with it or if he still wanted to do another take with the belief that he could do better and give more.

“They all wanted me to be the Best Actor this season,” Vice Ganda said about his co-stars as they were so encouraging and supportive of him. He also said that for his co-stars, he was a project. They helped him in his first drama genre.
