Anne Curtis and Kim Chiu welcomed the new era of “It’s Showtime” with tears.
Hosts Iya Villania and Robi Domingo took notice of this immediately after the speech of President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak.
“Anne, kaya pa?” Iya teased. “Akala mo hindi ko napapansin ‘yan, nakikita ko.”
Robi said, “Tears of joy!”
During her speech, Anne thanked the executives for “giving us a venue to continue our journey in making the madlang people happy.”
Kim also shared a few words, beginning with “Gusto ko talaga sabihin to — magandang hapon po, mga Kapuso.”
“Sobra lang akong nagpapasalamat, thank you, thank you for giving us a home,” she said. “Maraming maraming salamt, mga madlang Kapuso, magkita-kita tayo ngayong Sabado.”
Also present during the signing were fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario, Amy Perez, Ogie Alcasid, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, MC, Lassy, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez. “It’s Showtime’s” director Jon Moll also attended.
Leading the contract signing were executives from the media giants, headed by GMA Network’s chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide and Support Group, and President and CEO of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, President and COO Jimmy Duavit Jr., and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong.
ABS-CBN’s President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak, Chairman Mark L. Lopez, COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, and Officer-in-Charge of Finance Group Paul Piedad were also in attendance.
“It’s Showtime” will have its GTV premiere on July 1 at 11:30am, after which it will air on GTV from Monday to Saturday at 12nn. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
