Ogie Diaz talked about the SB19-It’s Showtime issue in his recent vlog

Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz defended the PPop Kings SB19 amid the “naningil” issue mentioned by It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda.

To recall, contestants who joined a portion of the Kapamilya noontime show have been requesting to dance to Gento, the latest hit of SB19 that has a viral dance challenge on TikTok.

In an episode of the show, Vice said that they can no longer play the song because SB19 is already asking for payment. Anne Curtis asked if it was true because this could be a way to promote the industry.

For non-fans of the PPop group, this is something to be criticized. A’TIN, the fandom of SB19 countered attack netizens who called them “mukhang pera,” “feeling sikat,” and “laki ng ulo.”

Ogie Diaz said that the public might not know that maybe it was the record label handling the group who required the payment. “Baka ang record label kung saan nakakontrata ang SB19, baka yun yung may patakaran, baka yun yung policy,” he said.

The talent manager-vlogger added, “Wala namang problema yun.” Then, Ogie explained the policy being implemented by the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc (FILSCAP) when it comes to requiring royalty fees.

“Kawawa naman yung SB19, hinuhusgahan sila, hindi naman siguro sila yung nagsabi na ‘di, dapat bayaran yan ng It’s Showtime,’” the talent manager-vlogger stressed.

Then, he said that in the entertainment industry, it should be “tulungan.” He pointed out that if SB19 has a new song and the group wants to promote it on the Kapamilya noontime show, it would create a mark on the show that once they were not allowed to play the group’s song.

Ogie also sees the point that the song can be widely promoted through the noontime show. However, he reiterated that people should respect the record label if it wants payment for the song.

“Kaya hindi natin dapat sila i-judge, malay ba ng mga bata,” Ogie Diaz said.
