Karylle went viral recently on social media after netizens noticed her absence during the guesting of her ex-boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes, and Marian Rivera on It’s Showtime.

While Karylle already explained her reason why she decided not to do her role as one of the hosts of It’s Showtime, some netizens couldn’t help but connect her absence to her bitter breakup with Dingdong.

It can be recalled that in 2008, late showbiz reporter Ricky Lo talked to Karylle, who had just recently ended her relationship with Dingdong.

The public, at that time, suspected Dingdong’s wife, Marian, to be the reason behind Karylle’s decision.

In the said interview, Karylle said that there were many reasons why her relationship with Dingdong ended.

“Well, for me there were many reasons that can’t be summed up in just one statement. It’s hard to trivialize things na, you know, this is the only reason and it’s up to the people to figure it out, na bahala na kayong intindihin. Maraming rason kasi, eh. You know, even if we keep on explaining or making kuwento, it’s only the two of us who know everything. People won’t get the whole story,” she said.

She also didn’t disclose the real reason behind the breakup, but Karylle said that she trusted Dingdong.

“Basta ang masasabi ko lang diyan…I asked him and he said…teka, ano ba ang sinabi niya? He said he never cheated on me and I trusted him,” Karylle responded when asked if Dingdong became faithful to her.

“Basta, all I can say is that I asked him and he said, ‘None.’ Kanino pa ba naman ako magtatanong? So, I trusted him with that answer,” she added when asked if there was a third-party involved.
