‘MiniMe’: 5-year-old plays cupid to Vice Ganda, Zeus then hilarity ensues (ch)

A “MiniMe” contestant became an unwitting matchmaker to co-hosts Vice Ganda and Zeus Collins, whose onscreen “love story” has recently become a staple on the kiddie talent contest on “It’s Showtime.”

In the noontime show’s Friday episode, 5-year-old Keithlyn Villarin was made to watch a clip of a woman whose crying smeared her makeup all over her face. Villarin’s task: to pick one item out of three presented, which she thinks can help address the problem.

Villarin’s choice was a handkerchief. Asked to demonstrate its use, Villarin instead directed Vice Ganda and Collins to act out how to console a crying friend with the handkerchief.

To the amusement of the audience, as well as co-hosts Anne Curtis and Karylle, Villarin’s instructions involved Vice Ganda addressing Collins as “baby” and later telling him, “I love you.”

At one point, Villarin quipped she would willingly close her eyes to let Vice Ganda and Collins proceed with their affectionate gestures, to the resounding laughter.

Villarin was one of the four weekly finalists of “MiniMe,” and went on to figure in a tie with another 5-year-old contestant, Audrey Jaro.
