Marian Rivera and Gabby Padilla have been named co-winners of the Best Actress Award at the Cinemalaya 2024!
Marian was hailed for her performance as Teacher Emmy in “Balota” while Gabby got the nod for her performance in “Kono Basho.”
“Birthday ko po bukas. Salamat po sa napakagandang regalo. Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat,” Marian said in her acceptance speech.
“Sa lahat po ng Teacher Emmy na matapang na ginagawa ang lahat para maproktetahan ang boto ng sambayanan kahit pa ang sarili nilang buhay ang malaan sa panganib,” she added. “Teacher Emmy, para sa ‘yo ‘to.”
Meanwhile, “Tumandok” won Best Full Length Film and “Cross My Heart and Hope to Die” took home the trophy for Best Short Film.
