Lala Sotto and Vice Ganda had the chance to meet each other
Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Lala Sotto shared what happened when she and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda met at a recent event.
To recall, an issue surfaced between MTRCB and the Kapamilya noontime show because of the complaints against the episode wherein Vice and his partner Ion Perez were eating the icing cake.
Sotto and the board were criticized by the fans of the noontime show, especially when the decision to suspend the show for 12 airing days. Some fans even called for her resignation. Within that period, It’s Showtime was replaced temporarily by It’s Your Lucky Day led by Luis Manzano.
In a previous interview, Chair Lala Sotto said that she is watching It’s Showtime, especially the segment Expecially For You.
Based on the article in Inquire, Sotto admitted that it is more difficult to regulate TV shows than movies. She said that films are more controlled.
The MTRCB head also shared that she and Vice Ganda met at a recent event. It was during the fashion show organized by Paul Cabral. She also shared her thoughts on the Kapamilya star.
“I’m so happy that it finally happened. Nobody introduced us. We just sort of crossed paths and kissed each other on the cheeks. It was a quick meeting since the show was about to start. In all fairness to Vice, he never made any negative comments about me, the board, or the suspension,” Sotto shared.
Meanwhile, the MTRCB Chair said that they are used to controversies now. Sotto said that they grew up around this. Being the daughter of showbiz personality-politician Tito Sotto, they are not newbies when it comes to issues and controversies. When she was still in high school, people started writing negative comments about her dad.
“Opposition will always be part of life, and I’ve accepted that. As for my family, they also don’t bother to give these negative opinions a fraction of their time,” Lala Sotto.
