Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino talked about their work dynamics

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu said that her What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim leading man Paulo Avelino is her “leader.”

Kim and Paulo’s tandem, known as KimPau, has been receiving overwhelming support from fans. From their heavy drama series Linlang, fans’ support continued for their rom-com based on the K-drama series with the same title.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PUSH, Kim and Paulo shared how they work together in order to give a realistic portrayal of their roles.

Paulo Avelino said that this is a hand-in-hand process to make the show worth it, from the time they did Linlang until their latest romantic-comedy series. The actor said that in his part, there was a lot to work on when they started Linlang.

“May mga bagay siyang nakikita sa script namin na hindi ko nakikita, may nakikita rin ako. Mine-make sure ko lagi na navovoice out ko lagi para malaman namin kung mutual ba yung gusto naming mangyari sa eksena or hindi,” the actor shared.

Paulo said that throwing lines also helped them a lot when it comes to timing. He shared that through this, they can see what is lacking in the scene and what they could add more. Because of this, Kim Chiu called her onscreen partner “Boy Throw Line.”

For the actress, Paulo is the leader in their tandem. The actor is leading her in how she would portray her characters from being dark and complicated to being sweet and soft.

“Sa amin siya talaga iyong leader. Siya yung leader ko. Parang marami siyang mga inputs. Parang mas malawak yung nakikita niya sa nakikita ko kaya nakikinig na lang ako sa kaniya,” Kim said.

Paulo and Kim are both thankful to the crew for helping them in portraying their roles effectively. The actor said that he had doubts in himself and there is a conscious effort in his part. He is thankful to Kim and the crew for the adjustments made for his role.

Kim Chiu said that she is not 100 percent bubbly but with the help from Paulo Avelino and the production staff, she was able to give her all for the character of Secretay Kim.
