Lakam Chiu Proud Of Sister Kim Chiu For Speaking Up On ABS-CBN Shutdown
KIM CHIU – Lakam Chiu said she’s proud of her younger sister Kim Chiu for speaking up on the shutdown of the ABS-CBN network.
Actress Kim Chiu was among the celebrities who participated in an online protest on Facebook. She tried to compare the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) closure order against the ABS-CBN network with classroom rules.
Lots of netizens said her statement was incomprehensible. They even created viral memes out of her trending statement.

Kim Chiu responded after receiving criticisms over her classroom statement. She acknowledged the fact that she did not understand what she said. She explained that she was carried away by her emotions.
“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakinig at umunawa sa amin kagabi. Thank you for choosing kindness, empathy and compassion! Maraming salamat po. Sinabi tungkol sa “classroom,” nung binasa ko, hindi ko din naintindihan. Pareho lang tayo!” she said in her IG post.

Kim Chiu’s elder sister Lakam Chiu also showed support for her. In her latest Instagram post, she said she was proud of her for speaking up on the ABS-CBN shutdown issue.
Lakam said she witnessed all her sister’s struggles and reacting amid ABS-CBN’s issue made her even more proud. She said “I couldn’t be more proud of you. Your courage is incomparable.”
“Sacrificing your own for the good of others has always been your remarkable trait. Thank you for making us proud. Stand tall @chinitaprincess We love you always and Forever,” she added.
