Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda recently battled dengue fever, but despite his condition, he continued working and bringing joy to the Madlang Pipol on ‘It’s Showtime’.
However, the revelation was not made by him but rather by his co-host and close friend, Kim Chiu, during a live episode of the noontime show.
During a lighthearted exchange on ‘It’s Showtime’, Kim Chiu unexpectedly revealed that Vice Ganda had contracted dengue but still reported to work.
“Buti okay ka na, Ma, kahit may dengue ka, nagtrabaho ka pa rin,” Kim blurted out, surprising Vice.
Caught off guard, Vice Ganda could only laugh and react, saying, “At talagang in-out mo na nagka-dengue ako!”
Fellow host Darren Espanto joined in on the playful banter, joking that details like these should have remained within their group chat.
Despite the lighthearted moment, Vice Ganda took the opportunity to remind viewers to take care of their health and stay hydrated, especially with the ongoing cases of dengue fever.
“Mag-ingat kayo, mga Madlang Pipol. Palaging siguraduhin na hydrated kayo para makaiwas sa anumang sakit,” Vice advised.
The moment quickly went viral, with ABS-CBN’s digital platforms even poking fun at Kim’s slip-up. The network shared a clip of the conversation with the caption:
“‘YONG DAPAT SECRET LANG, PERO ANG DALDAL NI FRIEND.”
Many netizens found the moment both hilarious and heartwarming, praising Vice Ganda’s dedication to his work despite battling an illness. Others also teased Kim for being too talkative, making the moment one of the highlights of the episode.
Even while recovering from dengue, Vice Ganda never took a break from hosting, showing his dedication to his craft and his audience. Fans commended the comedian for his professionalism and resilience, with many expressing their well-wishes for his continued health.
