Kim Atienza was dragged into the issue involving his daughter Emman Atienza

Social media personality Emman Atienza defended her father Kapuso host Kim Atienza against people who questioned his wealth.

Emman became a trending topic on social media just recently. It was because of the video that she shared that went viral. In the video, she and her friends did the β€œGuess the Bill Challenge” which showed that they spent over P130,000 for their dinner.

Because of this, they were criticized by the online community, especially Emman who posted the photo. The social media personality defended the video that she posted and retaliated to bashers.

In this issue, netizens dragged Kuya Kim Atienza. Many netizens mentioned that the Kapuso host should have reprimanded or raised his daughter well.

Some netizens even questioned the monetary status of the Atienza family as Emman showcased that extravagant dinner with her friends. With this, some even accused Kuya Kim, as well as, former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza of taking advantage of their power when they were public servants.

Based on the article in Bandera, Emman defended her father. She stressed that her parents are self-made. β€œMy dad became financially independent before any member in my family became a prominent political figure,” she said.

Meanwhile, Emman Atienza also explained whyΒ she mentioned actress Nadine Lustre, K-pop stars BTS, and international pop star Taylor Swift in her video defending their expensive dinner.

β€œI didn’t intend to drag them, I’m using it as an example. Meaning: if you’re mad at wealth, be mad at all wealth and don’t nitpick,” she said. However, fans of these celebrities did not buy Emman’s statement. A netizen pointed out that these celebrities are working as well, not like the situation of Emman, who accepted the β€œnepo baby” tag.
