Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards are not signing off yet?

Director Cathy Garcia Sampana appeared to be hinting at the continuation of the story of Joy and Ethan played by Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.

The story of Joy and Ethan was first introduced in 2019 in the movie  Hello, Love, Goodbye. Kathryn and Alden’s characters in the movie went separate ways to pursue their careers but the love between them was still there.

In the 2024 movie  Hello, Love, Again, Joy and Ethan were more mature and different challenges came into their lives and their relationship.

After the movie’s release and hailed as the current highest-grossing Pinoy film, Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards signed off as Joy and Ethan.

In a previous interview, both Kathryn and Alden said that there would be no more sequel to Joy and Ethan’s love story. However, in a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, Direk Cathy Garcia-Sampana appeared to have a different view on this.

“In real life, tayo, we don’t stop growing. We don’t stop encountering new problems and things that will put your character to the test,” the award-winning-director shared.

She also pointed out that even though people have learned, challenges will still come along the way and new learning will happen from these. With this, growth does not stop and people continue to be better. For the director, the characters of Joy and Ethan will continue to grow.

”I know that there’s no story that you put an end to. Parang feeling ko, these characters grow. And they will have new problems. So, sabi ko puwede pa hangga’t buhay sina Joy at Ethan you can always make stories from them,” Direk Cathy said.

However, this might not get the writers excited because of the pressure on their soldiers because of the two previous movies.
