Joey de Leon talked about a show he did years ago

Veteran comedian-host Joey de Leon revealed that the airing of his show in the past was discontinued and it was because of him.

Throughout his years in showbiz, Joey has already done several shows on different  TV networks. He is considered one of the icons of the entertainment industry in the Philippines.

With the years he has spent in the industry, he already experienced and went through a lot of different situations and encounter different kinds of people. During a recent press conference for his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 movie My Teacher with Toni Gonzaga, artists who came late to the set or studio were talked about.

Joey de Leon shared his own experience and this happened on his own show, based on the article in Manila Bulletin. “Yung ibang artista nag-aaway dahil late yung isa. Wala sa akin yang mga kuwento na yan. Ako matindi. Pag may nale-late, nilalayasan ko yung show. Pinapasara ko,” the Henyo Master shared.

Joey revealed that this happened in his T.O.D.A.S show on Channel 13 before. He said that the airing of the show was discontinued and it was because of him. The veteran comedian-host said that he got angry because some artists were coming to the set late.

“Sabi ko tigilan na natin ito. So pinatigil ko yung show. Hindi naman nila magawa na wala ako,” he said.

With this, Joey advised younger artists to inform the office or anyone on the set if they would arrive later than the scheduled time. He pointed out that it is easy now to communicate through cellular phones unlike years ago.

Then, he said that there are artists who do not intend to tell the truth. “Kasi yung ibang artista sinungaling. Nasaan ka na? Pagtinanong mo nandito na ako sa EDSA. Pero actually nasa Bulacan pa yun,” he said.

Joey de Leon recalled that in his T.O.D.A.S show back then, he learned that one artist who came late had a date and did not inform anyone in the office. “So ayun, pinasara ko. Sabi ko, ‘tama na, tigilan na natin ito. Wala ng taping next week,” he shared.
