They were inseparable for a time –from the days they were still working on their afternoon drama, “Araw Gabi,” to the few months after its finale aired. A rumored rift changed all that.
JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial both said that they have since patched things up, but it was apparent that their relationship took a hit, leaving some of their fans to wonder what really happened.
In an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” this Wednesday, De Guzman, while not specifically referring to the beef they had, provided a glimpse into why things did not work out for him and Imperial.
He began by sharing that he “tried to pursue” her after their show concluded. “I told her baka puwede natin i-try –maging magkaibigan muna tapos tingnan natin kung puwede bang may mangyari.”
“Pero medyo iyong pressure nu’ng trabaho –sa akin at sa kanya. Siya kaka-launch lang, ako kakabalik lang. Hindi nag-work.”
He revealed that they tried dating for a month.
De Guzman and Imperial first got close after being paired for “Araw Gabi.” They were subject of romantic rumors, fueled by sweet gestures such as going to the ABS-CBN Ball together.
De Guzman was on the late-night talk show to promote his movie with Arci Munoz, “Last Fool Show.” Check out the trailer below:
