Eric Tai talked about his past stint in the Kapamilya noontime show

Celebrity athlete Eric Tai, also known as Eruption, recalled the time when he was told that he is no longer needed in It’s Showtime.

Eric became a part of the Kapamilya noontime show in 2012, the year it started. However, after four years, he exited the show. Actress Coleen Garcia bid goodbye to the show in 2016.

Based on the article in PEP, Eric shared that a producer talked to him that year. He was told that his service is no longer needed because the show will have its reformat.

The celebrity athlete admitted that what happened was “biglaan.” “Papasok na ako ng Showtime. Tapos kinuha ako nung producer. Sabi niya, ‘Puwede tayong mag-meeting muna?’ Umakyat kami sa taas,” Eric Tai shared.

At that time, he already had a different feeling because this kind of situation seldom happened to him. Then, the producer told him, “‘Pasensiya na, Eric, nagkaroon kami ng reformat. Di na kailangan ang services mo dito.’”

Eruption accepted this and thanked the producer. He shared that he told the producer that through the show, he became popular and he is thankful to work with the hosts of the noontime show.

He also shared that her co-hosts gave him encouraging words. After that, the celebrity athlete said that he was silent for six months or a year regarding what happened. Then, people started asking why he and Coleen were no longer part of the show.

“Dami nagtatanong, ‘Wala si Eruption. Wala si Coleen.’ Deadma lang, until like six months or a year later. ‘Why Eruption? Anong nangyari?’ I really said, ‘Reformat. Reformat and di na nila kami kailangan,’” he shared.

On the other hand, Eric Tai stressed that he did not take this against the management. After what happened, he was still optimistic that everything will be okay. He is thankful that opportunities came to him after his It’s Showtime stint.
