Is this the reaction Eat Bulaga to its rival show?

A source revealed that the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga is unbothered by the higher ratings that its rival show It’s Showtime receives.

These past months the “competition” between the shows has somehow become more intense. This is because of their avid fans who frequently share their thoughts on social media.

Currently, It’s Showtime is occupying the noontime slot on the GMA network, as well as, GTV, and its home Kapamilya network.

For many years, Eat Bulaga was on GMA’s noontime slot until a conflict between the hosts of the show and the production company behind it, TAPE Inc.

After the launch of It’s Showtime on the GMA network on April 6, the ratings showed that the Kapamilya noontime show overpowered the Kapatid noontime show.

Based on the article in PEP, the daily average ratings of It’s Showtime these past days play around 7 to 8 percent. Last Friday, April 19, the Kapamilya noontime show got 7.4 percent while its rival show got 4.8 percent.

PEP entertainment writer Gorgy Rula said that someone from TV5 said that Eat Bulaga is not bothered by these ratings. It is because the show is aware of the scope of TV5’s reach and they can’t really depend on viewers of RPTV.

Aside from the fact that GMA-7 has a high viewing percentage, It’s Showtime also got help from GTV, A2Z, and the Kapamilya Channel.

Rula added that this is the reason why the longest-running noontime show is not worried about the current ratings. It was also said that they would only react if there was fake news about the show.

Just recently, TVJ addressed the issues claiming that they are “nalulugi” and allegedly will go off-air soon. Some even accused Henyo Master Joey de Leon of challenging It’s Showtime to reach 15 years.

However, Joey stressed that they were referring to those who are spreading fake news on social media and trying to create conflict between them and It’s Showtime. He said that the Kapamilya noontime show is not their “kaaway” and his fellow host Vic Sotto echoed what he said.
