Dingdong Dantes talked about his hosting stint

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes admitted that he doubted his hosting skills in the game show Family Feud.

Aside from being an actor, Dingdong also had a chance to do hosting stints. Family Feud was not his first hosting project but this still made him apprehensive about his ability.

During the recent episode of King of Talk Boy Abunda’s afternoon talk show Fast Talk, Dingdong shared what he felt when the said game show was offered to him. The actor-host was asked how hosting changed his life.

Dingdong Dantes admitted that he also had some insecurities at first he was thinking that there are others who are better hosts than him. He was also considering the fact that the game show is so popular and famous host Steve Harvey is hosting the US show.

“Noong binigay po sa akin ang Family Feud, nong sinabi na may opportunity para gawin mo ito, tanong ko, ‘Ako ba talaga?’ Kasi I recognize that there are more people out there who can do it better and who I think are more capable, so may mga insecurities nung nag-uumpisa kung ako ba talaga dapat ang nandito especailly coming from a very very successful franchise ni Tito Steve Harvey,” the Kapuso star said.

He said that the trust of the Kapuso management gave him the courage to do the show. One big factor also is the support coming from his family and his closest friends in showbiz.

When he started doing the show, he was clinging to the trust and confidence that GMA is giving to him because he knows there is wisdom behind the decision of the network to give the project to him.

Then, the actor-host mentioned some people who pushed him to do this project. “May mga kaunting tao na talagang nag-boost ng aking confidence si Direk [Cesar] Cosme sabi niya, ‘Just be who you are,’ Sabi ko, ‘Oo nga no, no pretentions,’ Sabi naman ni Maam Lilybeth [Rasonable], ‘Kung sino ka, ‘yun na lang, gawin mo lang ‘yun, and just enjoy ‘yun ang pinaka-mahalaga,’ So I did that,” he said.

Dingdong Dantes also shared that aside from his wife Marian Rivera and his mother, his father also helped him in getting back his confidence. “Sabi niya, ‘Son just carry on, nanonood ako,’ talagang sobrang ang says,” he shared.
