Is Carlos Yulo Interested To Join Showbiz?

CARLOS YULO – The  Olympic double gold medalist was asked if he has plans to enter showbiz after he meet his actor idol Coco Martin.

One of the Filipinos who rose not only to a national fame this year but also to an international popularity is Filipino gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo. He rose the Philippine flag up high after winning not just one (1) but two (2) gold medals in the 2024  Olympics.

This year’s Olympics was held in Paris, France. More than 200 countries participated in the biggest sports event in the world. Twenty-two athletes from the Philippines represented the country.

Caloy scored 15 in men’s floor exercise which earned him his first Olympic gold medal. Just a few hours after his first Olympic gold win, the Filipino gymnast won another gold medal for the Philippines for winning men’s vault event.

The Philippines ended its 2024 Olympics journey with four (4) medals — it’s best performance so far. Aside from the two (2) Olympic gold medals won by Caloy, Pinay boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas also won bronze medals for the country.

Several rewards and incentives were extended to the Olympic medalists. A grand heroes welcome was prepared for the Filipino athletes as well and they were greeted with a warm welcome upon their homecoming.

Tagged as the Golden Boy of the Philippines, Carlos gave the Philippines and the Filipino people a lot of pride and honor from his double gold win in the Olympics. Not only the Philippine government but as well as several private entities rewarded Caloy.

In fact, Carlos Yulo’s cash rewards and gifts received is over Php 100 million already. He received a brand new Land Cruiser Prado from Toyota and a brand new Tiggo 7 Pro SUV from Chery Auto.

Megaworld also gifted Caloy with a three-bedroom condo unit in McKinley Hills in Taguig. Recently, the ABS-CBN also prepared a warm welcome for the Filipino pride during his visit in the Kapamilya compound.

Carlos Yulo is still not used to the fame that he is getting following his Olympics double gold win. He endlessly thanks everyone for the support extended to him and for watching his competition.

According to Caloy, he did not expect that his wins have this huge impact to the country and he is blessed for it. The Golden Boy affirmed that someday he wants to teach gymnastics to children who wants to learn it but for now he is an athlete.

“Right now, atleta pa po ako. Gusto ko pa pong i-maximize yung years na pwedeng makapag laro po ako,” Caloy said based on a report on ABS-CBN News.

During his visit at the ABS-CBN compound, Carlos Yulo also met his idol, Coco Martin. He was asked if he has plans to enter the show business.

Based on the report, Carlos Yulo stressed that sports and showbiz are different worlds. He insisted that he is an athlete.

“Athlete po ako, magkaibang mundo po sila eh, so [pagiging] athlete lang po talaga ang pipiliin ko,” he said.
