Vice Ganda’s candid interview: No ill feelings towards TVJ as ‘It’s Showtime’ premieres on GTV
“It’s Showtime” premiers historically on GTV, a free-to-air TV channel owned by ABS-CBN’s former rival, GMA Network.
In a candid interview with GMA Network entertainment correspondent Aubrey Carampel on “24 Oras,” the ever-charismatic Vice Ganda revealed that there are “no ill feelings” towards the veteran trio Tito and Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ), despite the shuffle in schedules.
As TVJ’s upcoming show prepares to take over the noontime slot on TV5, previously occupied by “It’s Showtime,” Vice Ganda expressed understanding and emphasized that they bear no grudges towards the revered TVJ. “We don’t feel bad sa TVJ, wala kaming anong gano’n ha,” Vice Ganda declared.
While there are no hard feelings towards TVJ, Vice Ganda openly admitted feeling sad for the dedicated staff of “It’s Showtime.” The uncertainty of their show’s future after leaving the Kapamilya network has been challenging for them. “Siyempre, nalungkot din kami, kasi siyempre, ‘yung hindi namin alam kung sa’n kami mapupunta… ano na’ng mangyayari. So, naaawa ako do’n sa mga tao, sa staff namin kasi sobra na silang naguguluhan,” Vice Ganda shared.
In a stunning display of unity and star power, ABS-CBN’s and GMA’s biggest stars joined forces for a momentous occasion – the debut of “It’s Showtime” on GTV. This crossover event, filled with explosive performances and electrifying numbers, marked a historic moment in Philippine television.
Vice Ganda, ever the showman, surprised the “madlang people” with an entrance that won’t soon be forgotten. Riding a helicopter from the ABS-CBN compound to the GMA Network, Vice made a grand and unforgettable arrival. The energy reached a fever pitch as the charismatic host performed “Glad You Came” with the Kapuso, who cheered him on with unparalleled enthusiasm.
