During a segment of ‘Showbiz Update,’ hosts Ogie Diaz, Mama Loi, and Tita Jegs delved into discussions about Ria and Zanjoe’s engagement, alongside dissecting the aforementioned blind item.
The blind item suggested that an actor had impregnated an actress, with the actress having familial ties to show business. Mama Loi even posed the question, pondering if the actress in question could be Ria Atayde.
In the discussion, Ogie Diaz noted the widespread speculation among netizens, with many suggesting that the description aligns with the profile of Ria, who recently announced her engagement. Ria, hailing from a family renowned in the entertainment industry, has found herself at the center of attention due to these rumors.
While addressing the rumors, Ogie Diaz emphasized that if the speculation were accurate, there would be no inherent wrongdoing. He underscored Ria’s status as an adult, capable of making her own decisions regarding marriage and potential parenthood.
“So alam mo, kung sakali man na ito ay totoo, hindi naman tayo para magtaka pa. Una, babae ‘yan… At saka nasa edad na si Ria. Hindi na sila mga minor para ipaalala pa sa kanila ang mga pros and cons ng pag-aasawa at pagbubuntis,” Diaz shared.
Moreover, Diaz stressed that if Ria is indeed pregnant, it should be left to her and Zanjoe to reveal the news on their own terms, urging respect for their privacy during this time.. “Kung sakali mang totoo, bakit tayo mag-a-announce? Hayaan natin sila ang mag-announce no’n kung sakaling totoo na. Ibigay natin ‘yong moment na ‘yon.”
