Kapamilya star Piolo Pascual has dismissed any notion of a ratings rivalry between him and his close friend, Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo, as their respective primetime shows go head-to-head in the same timeslot.

Pascual stars in ‘Pamilya Sagrado’ on ABS-CBN, while Alonzo leads ‘Widows’ War’ on GMA Network.

In a recent interview during the special screening of his latest film, ‘Real Life Fiction,’ Pascual clarified that their friendship remains unaffected despite their shows airing at the same time.

“There is no rivalry whatsoever. At the end of the day we ate friends,” he said.

To highlight their strong bond, Pascual shared a screenshot of a video call with Alonzo on Instagram, with the caption, “Talking about ratings? Not!!! Misshoo so much.” Alonzo echoed the sentiment by reposting the image and adding, “Never!! I miss you, Eali!!”

The exchange took place after the two realized during their conversation that their shows were competing for viewership.

However, Pascual stressed that their discussion was more about reconnecting and planning a dinner, rather than focusing on their shows’ competition. “We were talking about dinner because it has been long overdue. And then we were saying, ‘oo nga magkatapat shows natin ‘no, hanep!’ But that is it,” Pascual recalled.

The friendship between Pascual and Alonzo dates back to their first on-screen collaboration in the 2005 film ‘Dreamboy.’ Despite Alonzo’s move to GMA Network in July 2021, their camaraderie has remained strong, proving that their relationship transcends network boundaries.
