Matagal nang usap-usapang hanggang December 2024 na lamang mapapanood ang Kapamilya noontime show na It’s Showtime sa GMA-7.
Pero wala pang kumpirmasyon dahil puro haka-haka lamang ang mga naglalabasang balita.
Isa si Ogie Alcasid sa mga host ng 15-year-old variety program ng ABS-CBN na napapanood sa GMA-7, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, at ALLTV.
Tulad ng karamihan, wala rin daw siyang alam tungkol sa mainit na isyu.
Saad ni Ogie: “Six months? I don’t know, I am not privy to the dealings.
“Naririnig ko but I don’t know. Ako, I just show up every day and do my work, and that’s it.
“Hindi ko alam. I think wala naman may alam. I think it’s hanging in there.
“So siyempre, lahat kami, sanay na kami na bahala na.”
Dagdag niya: “Pero in fairness talaga sa GMA, talagang ipinaglaban nila kami, especially Ma’am Annette [Gozon-Valdes, GMA-7 executive].
“They’re very welcoming. Naramdaman namin yon nung ball [GMA Gala].
“They wanted Showtime kasi kung hindi naman nila gusto ang Showtime, wala kami, di ba?
“I think ang ganda ng preparations, it started with GTV, nakaramdam kami both ng ligaw-ligawan, and then we understood each other’s relationship and parameters.
“So, yung paglipat sa pagiging main lunchtime show ng GMA, sobrang imposibleng mangyari, pero nangyari because of the stage-by-stage events.
“I am just blessed to be part of that and, hopefully, we can do it longer. Otherwise, life goes on.”

LEILA’S ENGAGEMENT
Nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang entertainment media, kabilang ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), na makausap si Ogie sa press conference ng Ogieoke 2, nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 25, 2024.
Itatanghal ang Ogieoke 2 sa Nobyembre 30, 2024, sa Newport Performing Arts Theater sa Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.
Hindi lamang ang isyu tungkol sa It’s Showtime ang itinanong kay Ogie sa naganap na media conference.
Inalam din ng PEP.ph ang saloobin niya tungkol sa nakaraang engagement ng kanyang panganay na anak na si Leila Alcasid at ng fiancé nitong si Mito Fabie.

Ipinagtapat ni Ogie na naramdaman niya ang nalalapit na engagement ng dalawa. Nang maganap ito, nakumpirma lamang ang kanyang inaasahang mangyari.
Lahad ng singer-TV host: “There was a part of me na parang parating na siya, so hindi naman sa hindi ko ine-expect.
“Nang dumating, it just confirmed what I was thinking, what I was feeling. I was super happy.
“I was talking to Michelle, sabi niya, ‘Well, you know, life goes on. I am just happy with Mito also and I am happy for both of them.’
“Si Leila has blossomed into a real responsible and intelligent, loving daughter.
“Sabi ko kay Michelle, ‘Sa yo lumaki yan kaya ikaw yan.'”
Twenty-nine years old si Ogie nang ikinasal sa first wife niya at former Miss Australia na si Michelle Van Eimeren, na 25 naman noon.
Si Leila ay na-engaged sa edad na 27.
Ikinasal si Ogie sa pangalawang pagkakataon kay Regine Velasquez noong Disyembre 22, 2010.
Forty-one years old noon si Regine, at 43 si Ogie.

“I am excited. I am very emo [emotional] about it kasi siyempre, baby ko yon, e.
“But I see, she’s so happy. I see them very happy.
“And Mito, her fiancé, is very happy. He’s a wonderful gentleman. He shows his respect for all of us.
“So I feel blessed that siya ang napili as my son-in-law,” nakangiting salaysay ni Ogie tungkol sa nakatakdang pagpapakasal ni Leila.
Patuloy niya, “Alam mo, kapag tiningnan ko yung panganay ko, parang ang tingin ko pa rin, little girl, kahit ano pang gawin mo.
“I don’t know how I will be on her wedding day. I don’t know yet [the date], they haven’t finalized.”
Maipapangako niya bang hindi siya iiyak sa araw ng kasal ni Leila?
“Parang dapat [umiyak] para maganda yung visuals. Ogie, umiyak! Parang syongaers [ang headline]!” sabi ni Ogie, na natawa sa sariling biro niya.
Handa na ba siyang maging lolo?
“Ang dami kong kaibigan, ang dami nang apo,” sagot ni Ogie.
“Hindi ako naiinggit but I wanna feel that kasi lahat sila sinasabi, ang sarap. E, sa pusa lang, tuwang-tuwa na ako, e.”
