ABS-CBN lords the online concurrent viewership game, with FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, now regularly hitting more than half a million, nightly.

With the exception of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, which remains the overall number one TV show in the coutry, Kapuso programs are butchering their Kapamilya counterparts, in the ratings game. Only the Coco Martin-starrer, has been consistently ruling its timeslot on primetime, Nielsen Philippines data, show.

On Wednesday, July 3, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo replicated its highest people rating since debut, at 17.0. The series has notably hit this figure four times already, and with events in the series arguably still simmering, it seems a new all-time high record is just around the corner. It’s rival show, Black Rider, managed to pulled off a measly 9.9, on the same timeslot.

However, it is on television that the more interesting battle unfolfs for local TV programs. Online, new all-time high records are similarly being observed, as more and more viewers shift from traditional TV to streaming. Both GMA Network and ABS-CBN, it can be noted, are now streaming and simulcasting their shows on their official online channels.

As GMA Network claims leadership in the TV ratings battle, ABS-CBN seems well ahead of its rival. The difference vividly glares on primetime, with the Kapamilya primetime programs toppling their Kapuso counterparts, by mile.

Say, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, for example, the series has been drawing at least half a million viewers nightly, since Wednesday, June 26. On Tuesday, July 2,  the series broke its own record for highest concurrent viewership, with over 550,000 live concurrent viewers across Facebook and YouTube. The milestone marked the third time the series logged a new all time high, within 5 days. In comparison, rival show, Black Rider,  bleeds outrageously in this game, with around ten times less concurrent viewers, nightly. On Wednesday, July 3, the series peaked at 44,000 concurrent viewers. These are collected from six Kapuso Stream live streams on Youtube and Facebook.

Widow’s War, which debuted on Monday, July 1, is yet to outdo its predecessors, although it has been notably winning the same timeslot battle with Pamilya Sagrado, with slim margin. Nielsen Philippines data reports the Bea Alonzo-starrer, logged an 8.6 people rating on Wednesday, slightly higher than its Kapamilya counterpart, with 7.7. Online concurrent viewership-wise, the Piolo Pascual-topbilled drama practically slaughters Widow’s War. Pamilya Sagrado registered 268,900 live concurrent viewers, during its first body, and while it further slid down to around 150,000 at end credits, it was still miles away Widow’s War’s 36,100.

Teen drama, High Street, which is yet to scre a win in the ratings game, finds something to celebrate about, in its high live concurrent viewership, which is more than double Asawa Ng Asawa Ko. That said, the infidelity series topbilled by Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rayver Cruz, narrowly led Kapuso programs in the race.

On Wednesday, more than 45,700 online users tuned in on on the top rating series. High Street, meanwhile, led the timeslot with 124,000 at opening and 86,000 viewers at closing.
