Vice Ganda is one proud friend after Kim Chiu bagged a lead role in the Philippine adaptation of ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?’

Vice Ganda is one proud friend as Kim Chiu bagged the starring role in the Philippine adaptation of the K-Drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?
Fresh from the success of the Prime series Linlang, Kim will be headlining Secretary Kim alongside Paulo Avelino.
“Congratulations kay Kim Chiu. The most in demand and the most successful actress now. I am so proud of my daughter,” Vice told Kim in an episode of It’s Showtime.
Kim extended her gratitude to her fans and to the production team behind Secretary Kim.
“Thank you so much madlang people. I’m your secretary Kim. Thank you po sa Dreamscape and sa Viu and sa lahat ng nagpa-trending kahapon (referring to the PH adaptation announcement),” she stated.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Kim remarked that she was thrilled when the series was offered to her especially that she is a K-Drama fan herself.
“I’m very happy to do this project and mag-land siya sa akin kasi I am also a fan ng mga [Korean] series di ba? During pandemic pinanood ko talaga ‘to so I’m happy to be the secretary Kim of the Philippines,” she stated.
Asked if she feels pressured considering that the K-Drama was a massive hit, Kim replied: “Siyempre meron of course kasi hindi naman maiiwasan na hindi ma-compare ‘yung pag may paggagayahan. Siguro lalagyan na lang namin ng a taste of Filipino touch.”
The actress remarked that she is looking forward to doing a different acting dynamic this time with Paulo after they starred in Linlang.
“Dun sa Linlang sobrang intense, heavy minsan niyo lang kami makikitang nakangiti sa isa’t isa. Ito pwede na kaming makapagbigay ng maraming smiles and all. So sobrang complete opposite siya which were very thankful din na sinuportahin kami sa Linlang and we are doing this prokect ngayon with Viu so sobrang happy and excited again to do a different dynamics with Paulo,” Kim stated.
