What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino expressed their gratitude for all the fans and viewers who made their show one of the most viewed series on the video streaming platform Viu.

At the media conference for the series’ upcoming free television airing, Paulo shared that he was very much surprised by the outcome of the series.

“I didn’t expect it to blow up this big. You know when you started the series nandoon lagi yung kaba and yung hindi mo alam kung tatangkilikin ng tao… I’m very grateful and thankful na napakalaki ng pagtanggap ng manonood natin,” Paulo shared.

Kim also expressed her overwhelming feelings as she personally saw the viewers’ reaction to their show online and even in person.

“Overwhelming, of course, yung nangyayari. Sa mga social media ang daming natutuwa, ang daming nasisiyahan and ang daming nagsubscribe sa Viu. Tapos kapag nasa labas ako tawag nila sa akin secretary Kim. Nakakatuwa and at the same time very thankful and grateful,” Kim said.

She added, “Mag-two months na rin itong napapanood ng mga tao. Hindi nila kami binibitawan at iniiwan kahit 20 minutes a day na.”

 Produced under Dreamscape Entertainment, the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean romance series is set to air on Saturdays, 7:15 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z and at 8 p.m. on TV5. The show will also run every Sunday at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z and 8:15 p.m. on TV5.

“I’m very excited kasi same with Linlang na it was shown on Amazon Prime tapos hindi namin inexpect na tatangkilikin pa rin ng ganito when it comes paglabas sa free TV. I’m hoping na ganoon pa rin yung pagtangkilik ng mga tao sa What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” Paulo remarked.

Kim added, “Sana hindi maumay sa amin yung mga fans… Very thankful kami and we’re hoping and praying na sana mas marami pang makakapanood nito ngayong nasa free TV na siya mapapanood.”

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim started streaming on Viu last March and quickly became the most viewed series and a trending topic on different social media platforms.

Besides the light and romantic storyline and the actors’ incredible performances, Kim and Paulo’s undeniable chemistry also made every viewer squeal and wish for the two to do more projects together in the future.

“Actually hindi ko rin inexpect na effective eh. Parang while doing it kasi parang ang daming factors na nangyayari so nandoon lang talaga yung conscious effort namin pareho na parang you know we should always make the scene work and make it as beautiful as we can and hit our objectives for the scene,” Paulo stated.

Kim and Paulo first worked together as an onscreen pair on the hit series Linlang, which airs weekdays, 8:45 p.m.

In an interview during the series’ press conference last March, Kim said that she couldn’t explain her natural chemistry with Paulo that made their fans enjoy watching them on screen.

“Nakaka-amaze din na marami yung sumusuporta sa aming dalawa, which is nagugulat talaga kami. We’re very thankful, of course, sa suporta online and nakakagulat na sa edad namin na ito meron pang nag-s-ship.’ Parang weird yung feeling pero salamat po. Sobra kaming natutuwa and na-ha-happy. Minsan nagbabasa kami sa X at sabi nila ganito ka daw, ganyan, ganyan. Tapos nagtatawanan lang kami. I’m very thankful,” she stated.

“Siguro sa tagal namin dito sa industriya, ngayon lang talaga kami nagkasama ni Paulo mag-work and after Linlang and then ito nasundan kami ng another project, so mas kilala na namin ang isa’t isa,” she said.
