Usually, it’s global fashion and style icon Heart Evangelista that gets all the online attention, but this time around its her beloved aspin (native Filipino dog) Panda that is getting all the social media interactions.
In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, Panda “spoke up” about an ongoing social media firestorm surrounding the Tagaytay restaurant Balay Dako, which was accused of discriminating against an aspin.
In the caption of the post, Panda “writes”: “Anong walang breed ???! Mas may breeding pa ako sa Inyo ha. Loka mga ‘to. Hello sa mga kasali sa Aspin Society Elite.”
Netizens quickly went along with Panda’s “comments”, writing their own thoughts in the post’s comment section. Comments range from people cheering Panda on to pride at Panda standing up for its fellow aspins.
The issue that prompted this social media post from Panda is the criticism surrounding Tagaytay restaurant Balay Dako, which was accused in an Instagram and Facebook post by marketing manager Lara L. Antonioof alleged discrimination against aspins.
Lara’s Facebook and Instagram posts point out that the restaurant’s pet policy was not clear on which dogs are allowed and not allowed in the establishment. Lara also alleged that her dog’s breed played a part in the refusal since other breeds like Labradors were allowed in the restaurant.
