Wala pang anak sina Heart Evangelista at Senator Chiz Escudero.
Pero ang senador ay may dalawang anak sa unang asawang si Christine Elizabeth Flores, ang kambal na sina Chesi at Quino.
Pagmamalaki ni Heart, maganda raw ang relasyon niya sa kanyang mga stepchildren dahil hindi niya sila pinilit na mahalin o respetuhin siya.

Kuwento niya sa eksklusibong panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “The only nice thing about my situation is, I was being able to be given time talaga with them.
“And I’ll always believe never to pressure, you’ll never be their mom.
“Never pressure someone, but in the long run, when they will feel the love, it will automatically be beautiful.
“And that’s where we are now. It’s importante talaga kung ano, yung sino yung kasama ng mga anak mo, yung environment niya.
“And I’m just very proud of who they are today. And I’m also glad kasi I grew up with them.
“Di naman ako mature since before. Immature din ako, e.
“So para kaming lumaki together. Ako nga yung panganay ni Chiz, e.”

Kuwento ni Heart noong 2020, kahit hindi siya ang tunay na ina ng dalawa, para na ring may nakaatang na responsibilidad sa kanya na i-guide sila.
Pero sinisiguro din niyang hindi siya umastang tunay na ina ng mga ito.
Saad pa niya, “Actually, it’s very, very hard. It’s so hard, to be honest, because you cannot.
“I mean, for me, I cannot be strict or else they’ll end up hating me.
“But how can you also make sure that they’re getting the proper guidance?
“So, it’s very, very hard for me.
“But, I guess, I’m lucky my approach with them is ‘we’re friends.'”

“I’m always very grateful. And I feel like yung naging super power ko, dahil grateful ako.
“Bakit pa ako magko-complain o magiging maiinis o magagalit.
“E, madami naman ibang binibigay sa akin si Lord. So, hindi ako sensitive.”
