Heart Evangelista took to social media to extend her love to Yoda, the aspin (asong Pinoy) that was recently denied entry to a restaurant in Tagaytay supposedly because of the dog’s breed and size.

On Instagram Stories, the actress shared a post showing her beloved pet Panda, also an aspin, with the caption: “Sending love to Yoda.”

Evangelista, an animal welfare advocate, is known for having a soft spot for aspins.
She playfully refers to Panda as the president of “Aspin Society Elite,” with her dog’s Instagram page boasting of over 70,000 followers.
The latest post on the said account, which appears to be a reaction to the viral incident, had the caption: “Anong walang breed? Mas may breeding pa ako sa inyo ha. Loka mga ‘to. Hello sa mga kasali sa Aspin Society Elite.” It also included the hashtag #notodiscrimination.
In the comments section, Evangelista told Panda to invite Yoda for tea. “Invite mo na anak si Yoda for high tea!” she said.

The group, where Evangelista also serves as a spokesperson, stressed that “no pet deserves to be turned away for being an aspin” and called for “a holistic, inclusive love for all pets.”
“Let’s ensure that your doors are open to every pet, regardless of breed,” PAWS said. “To be truly ‘pet-friendly’ is to foster genuine inclusivity and love.”

Viral ngayon ang Facebook post ng isang fur parent na nagpahayag ng hinaing matapos hindi payagang pumasok sa isang Filipino restaurant sa Tagaytay kasama ang kanyang dalawang alagang aso.
Ayon kay Lara Antonio, batid niyang “pet-friendly” ang Balay Dako sapagkat dati na silang naging customer nito. Kaya hindi niya inakala na sa sunod niyang pagpunta, kasama ang mga alagang asong sina Yoda at Ari, ay magkakaroon ng aberya.
Kuwento ng fur parent, hinihintay niyang lumabas ang kaniyang kasama na bumili ng diaper sa loob ng restaurant upang malagyan ang kaniyang alagang aso.
Maya-maya, isang lalaking staff umano ang nakakita kay Yoda, at nagpabalik-balik at bumulong sa kasamahang nasa front-of-house.
Nabigla si Antonio nang ipaalam sa kaniya ng front-of-house na hindi pwede si Yoda sa nasabing establisyimento. Dagdag pa niya, tinanong aniya siya kung ano ang breed ng kanyang aso.
“I have a weird gut feeling immediately so instead of aspin, I say ‘mixed breed.’ I’ve dealt with this before. I know this and as annoying as it is, ‘mixed breed’ is more palatable to elitist establishments like Balay Dako, apparently,” paliwanag ni Antonio sa Facebook post.
Pasok sa lahat ng qualifications ng restaurant ang mga alagang dala ni Antonio kung kaya’t ipinagtataka niya kung bakit bigla na lang silang hindi pinayagang makapasok. Hinala niya, ito ay dahil aspin si Yoda.
Mariin itong tinanggi ng staff ng Balay Dako, na sinubukan pa raw magpaliwanag na may dating insidente na ng asong nakakagat ng customer sa restaurant.
Diin ni Antonio, walang kinalaman ang kanyang mga alaga doon. “That’s not my dog’s fault? It’s the owner’s fault. So don’t say you’re pet-friendly and let labradors in, but not my aspin,” aniya.
Sa kabilang banda, humingi ng paumanhin ang Balay Dako tungkol sa “hindi pagkakaintindihan” pagdating sa kanilang pet policy.
Sa isang Facebook post, ipinaliwanag ng restaurant na maliban sa pag-a-accommodate ng mga alagang hayop, kinokonsidera rin nila ang kaligtasan at espasyo ng lahat ng kanilang customers.
Nilinaw din ng Balay Dako na kasalukuyan na nilang inaaral ang kanilang polisiya upang masigurong malinaw at balanse para sa mga pet owners at non-pet owners.
Siniguro rin ng nasabing restaurant na nagagabayan ang kanilang mga staff pagdating sa kanilang mga polisiya.
Sa sumunod na post ni Antonio nitong Lunes, sinabi niya na hindi humingi ng pasensya ang Balay Dako sa kaniya, at hindi rin ito ang pakay niya rito.
Labis naman ang pagkadismaya ng mga netizens matapos makita ang Facebook post ni Antonio, na nagresulta ng pag-iiwan ng hindi magandang reviews sa Facebook page ng Balay Dako.
