The documentary is part of the network’s ‘No Excuse for Abuse’ campaign and premieres Oct. 27

Chris Brown is the latest to get the documentary treatment following years of abuse accusations.

ID, the network that also aired the viral Quiet on Set documentary earlier this year which chronicled alleged abuse going on behind the scenes at Nickelodeon, is releasing one on Brown titled Chris Brown: A History of Violence. The singer has been accused of assault by multiple people, most notably by ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

“Chris Brown’s an amazing and talented musician, but let’s call a thing a thing: he’s an abuser of women. Consistently, unapologetically,” a woman can be heard saying in the trailer.

Amid clips of the “Forever” singer being swarmed by paparazzi and fans, cards are shown with chilling facts about domestic violence like “Reoffending is common” and “An abuser often uses promises, coercion, and threats to maintain secrecy and silence.”

The documentary also references the 2022 sexual assault lawsuit by a woman alleging that the singer raped her on a yacht. The suit was eventually dropped the same year.

A History of Violence will additionally feature testimony from an anonymous new victim who has not come forward publicly. There is no word that her identity will be revealed in the documentary’s official release.

At 19 years old, Brown made headlines in 2009 after beating then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown was subsequently charged with felony assault and making criminal threats on March 5. He pleaded guilty to a felony on June 22 of that year and accepted a plea deal of community labor, five years’ probation and domestic violence counseling. The two would go on to reunite in 2013 and briefly dated again.

Brown would then be involved in various legal troubles, including a scuffle with Drake’s entourage at a hotel, and another altercation with Frank Ocean allegedly over a parking space. Ocean declined to press charges, and seven years after the incident, Brown and Drake parodied their own brawl as a dance battle in the 2019 music video for Brown’s song “No Guidance,” featuring Drake.

Brown went into rehab to address his substance abuse and anger in 2013. After a short quiet period, he became the center of several accusations, including accusations of battering a woman in a hotel room and threatening another woman with a gun, the latter for which he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Charges were never filed.

In 2017, ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order against him after sharing threatening text messages in court and alleging he physically abused her.

The following year, Brown was accused of aiding in a 2017 sexual assault that took place at his home. Jane Doe claims that the singer confiscated her phone, distributed a mysterious pill, and supplied alcohol. When her mother called the police out of concern, Brown allegedly refused to open the gate to let the police in. Brown’s lawyer denied the allegations, and in April 2020, the lawsuit was dismissed and settled out of court.

He was accused and detained on suspicions of rape in 2019 and again in 2022. Brown denied the accusations. The 2019 probe was later dropped, and Brown filed a defamation suit against the woman and in August 2022, a judge dismissed that case, per NBC Palm Springs.

As recently as July of this year, Brown and his entourage were accused of beating four men backstage after a show in Fort Worth, Texas. “The unprovoked violence included multiple strikes to the Plaintiffs’ heads and chests, and ultimately involved stomping them while they were down. The brutal, violent assault participated in and directed by Brown, severely injured all Plaintiffs,” the complaint read. Reps for Brown and Live Nation did not respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment at the time.
