Sunshine Cruz says reconciliation with Cesar Montano completed ‘lacking piece’ in their daughters’ hearts
Sunshine Cruz opened up about her reconciliation with ex-husband Cesar Montano.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, the actress remarked that their reconciliation completed the missing piece in their children’s lives.
“Very happy ako kasi nakikita ko kung paano nagsha-shine ang eyes ng mga anak ko, and sila na mismo ang nagsasabi na ‘yung piece na lacking sa heart nila [ay] nabuo ulit,” she said.
She also relayed that she even gave advice to Cesar when it comes to his current relationship.
“Sabi ko nga kay Cesar, ‘Magpakabait ka na d’yan kay Kath (Angeles, Cesar’s present partner) — napakaganda, napakabait. Napakaswerte mo,'” she stated.
“‘Mag-behave ka kasi kung hindi makakaaway niya kaming lahat ng mga anak ko.'”
In the same interview, Sunshine opened up about her past as a sexy star. She revealed that it was one of the reasons behind her split from Cesar.
“There was a time na ni-regret ko ‘yon, especially naging malaking parte ‘yon ng aking separation ng aking ex-husband,” she relayed.
“But at the end of the day, mas naging stronger ako, mas natuto ako and ang ginawa ko ay pinatunayan ko sa mga tao na hindi lang ako sexy star or bold star—I can also be a singer, I can be an actress and most especially, I am a good mom,” she said.
Sunshine and Cesar got married in 2013. They have three children Angelina, Samantha, and Angel Francesca. Their marriage was annuled in 2018.
Back in September 2022, Sunshine penned a message on social media thanking those who expressed support for her modern family set-up with Cesar.
“Salamat sa napakagagandang comments nyo. I’ve read it and nakakatuwa na makita that you guys appreciate our (blended) family. Masayang masaya especially ang mga bata and their happiness is my happiness,” she said in a Facebook post.
The actress remarked that it was high time for them to move forward from the past.
“Dumating na sa amin ang oras na kalimutan ang past, move forward and to have a better relationship. We are family after all. Sabi ko nga, ‘in God’s perfect time’. I prayed and I believed that this will eventually happen and it was given to me and my family,” she stated.
