Karylle clarifies husband Yael Yuzon is “open-minded” about her lips-to-lips with Vice Ganda

Karylle says she was surprised by Vice’s kiss on her lips.

Karylle says her husband Yael Yuzon has never been against her teamup with Vice Ganda: “Dati kasi na-misunderstand and na-misinterpret lang siya [Yael]. Pero hindi niya sinabi [na ayaw niya]. Wala naman talaga ding ganun.”

Karylle admits she was surprised when Vice Ganda kissed her on the lips at the 6thanniversary kickoff of It’s Showtime, held at the Araneta Coliseum last Saturday, September 26.

The Kapamilya singer-TV host explained, “Kami ni Vice, palagi kaming nagbibiruan kung magki-kiss kami or what.

“Pero as an actor, I don’t like to feel too predicatable. I allow myself space to be surprised.

“Pero kumbaga, kami, nag-uusap kami. Alam naman namin we’re acting.

“Kumbaga, extension yun ng ‘Sine Mo ‘To,’ live-music video whatever. Ginagawa talaga namin.”

But Karylle maintained that she was clueless about whether or not Vice can kiss her for real on cam.

She said it all depends on how their ad libs will play out during a live episode of the show.

“I just allow myself space to be surprised. Ayoko isipin na, ‘Yes, mangyayari ‘to!’

“Even when I act, ayoko ng masyadong naka-plan.

“Mas gusto ko yung mas natural na nagugulat na reaction, para mas totoo.”

ON BASHERS. In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters this Wednesday, September 30, Karylle also answered queries about how her husband Yael Yuzon defended her and Vice against bashers on social media.

While a lot of ViceRylle (Vice-Karylle) fans were thrilled with their unexpected kiss, some netizens felt that it was done in bad taste.

Karylle, for her part, refused to be affected by such negative feedback, especially when there’s also a huge number of fans who are happy about the ViceRylle teamup.

“Right now, I find that it’s a bit sad that there’s actually a word basher and hater.

“I think it takes too much energy from a person.

“Parang I just wish the climate of the country was a little more cool, more happy. In anything,” Karylle reasoned.

NO NEED FOR YAEL’S PERMISSION. But for the record, Karylle stressed that she didn’t necessarily need Yael’s permission for her to do a kissing scene with Vice on It’s Showtime.

“For me, I like that Yael was able to express himself without editing anything para maintindihan ng tao na he’s very open-minded.

“Ang pinakamalaking away namin, pag hindi ako nagda-drive.

“He wants me to be independent, to have my own mind to make my own decisions.

“Kasi parang people are asking me, parang, ‘Hindi [ka] nagpaalam [kay Yael]… Bakit ka pumayag…’

“For me kasi, parang equal ang tao, e.”

At the same time, she clarified that Yael was never against her teamup with Vice.

It will be recalled that Vice had a brief rift with Karylle when he learned that her husband was supposedly “offended” by their loveteam on It’s Showtime last year.

“No. Actually that’s why I’m happy na, kumbaga, hindi siya naging tahimik because he was able to speak his mind.

“Para naiintindihan ng tao what his voice is, how he feels about certain issues.

“Dati kasi na-misunderstand and na-misinterpret lang siya.

“Pero hindi niya sinabi [na ayaw niya]. Wala naman talaga ding ganun.

“Siyempre isa siyang rakista. You have your own notions about how he thinks, how he feels,” she explained.

Fast forward to present time, Karylle reiterated that Yael is very supportive of her and Vice Ganda’s on-screen tandem.

“Yes, nandun siya [Yael at Araneta Coliseum], nung nag-transform ako hanggang naging lalaki.

“Nandun siya, kasama ko siya kumanta. Okay naman.

“Si Yael kasi, lumaki ‘yan na nagti-theater siya.

“Yung kapatid niya, si Kuya Yani, nagti-theater.

“So, lagi ko sinasabi, ‘Buti na lang ikaw yung open-minded at ako yung actor.’

“Kasi kung baliktad, hindi ko siya mate-take.

“Mas magiging ano ako, seloso,” she concluded.
